To swap outfit cosmetics, pause the game -> tab over to “Loadout” -> Click either of the first two options. Here, you’ll be able to put on new outfits or new hats/helmets/etc. You can buy either of these from the Armory, Park’s Special Stock, for Rep Scrip.
To change your base look, pause the game -> tab over to “Loadout” -> click “Change Base Appearance” at the bottom of the section to the right of “Consumables.”
Once you click that option, you’ll be taken to the character creation menu (seen in the header image for this article). Here, you can choose between Feminine and Masculine body types, 10 face presets, seven skin tones, seven eye colors, 16 hairstyles, eight facial hairstyles, 18 hair colors, and six voices.
Once you’ve made your tweaks, click “Save Changes.” Though likely pretty obvious, you can only do this while on the UAS Endeavor; you can’t do so during a mission.
It’s worth noting that there seems to be a bug with saving your base appearance. Backing out of the menu by pressing B, Circle, or Spacebar may not save your progress even after choosing to “Save Changes” in the menu. If you run into this, exit the menu by pressing:
Options on the Dualshock 4/DualSense Menu on an Xbox Controller ESC on Keyboard
Even if you do this, anything you’ve done may not save if you exit the game. The same goes for swapping out cosmetics. There are two ways to make sure your progress is kept, and you can read more about them in our guide on how to save.
And that’s all you need to know about how to change your appearance and cosmetics in Aliens: Fireteam Elite. We’ve got more guides over here if you need help with finding intel, hidden caches, and more.
